Karim Khan Saka is a multifaceted individual from Shimshal, Hunza, located in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan. Born in 1974, he is renowned as a singer, poet, writer, and cultural advocate. Fluent in several languages and dialects, Saka has dedicated his efforts to preserving and promoting the languages and cultures of the diverse ethnic groups inhabiting the mountainous regions of the Karakoram, Himalayas, Hindu Kush, and Pamir.
In 2005, Saka moved to France to study French at the Institut Catholique de Paris. Upon returning to Hunza in 2008, he authored his first book on the Wakhi people. He is the first Wakhi author to write a book in his native language and has since published works on other regional languages, including Shina and Balti .
Beyond his literary contributions, Saka is also a social entrepreneur and philanthropist. He founded an academy in Hunza to provide higher education opportunities for girls from remote areas, aiming to empower them and promote the Wakhi language through written education .
His artistic endeavors include musical works such as "Allahu Maulana," a tribute to Mawlana Hazar Imam on the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee . Saka's contributions to culture and education have been recognized, earning him awards for his dedication to community development and cultural preservation
